У статті проаналізовано шляхи розвитку та характерні особливості лекторської майстерності у
викладацькій діяльності професора історії Михайла Васильовича Клочкова у дореволюційний період (1906–
1917 рр.). За допомогою методу аналізу архівних матеріалів та історико-педагогічних джерел виявлені шляхи формування особливостей лекторської майстерності педагога. Викладацький шлях М. В. Клочкова проаналізований із застосуванням біографічного методу, який дав змогу з’ясувати вплив культурно-освітніх та суспільно-політичних чинників на формування викладача як лектора.
The article is devoted to the pre-revolutionary period (1906-1917) of Mykhailo Vasyliovytch Klochkov teaching work at Kharkiv Emperor University in the beginning of the XXth century. Particular attention is paid to the development and implementation of the teacher’s lecturer skills.
The main source of the research is taken from the private archives of Mykhailo Klochkov, which is kept at the Kharkiv Region State Archive, as well as historic pedagogical sources – articles in the periodic issues of that time, responses and memories of Mykhailo Klochkov contemporaries.
The urgency of the research caused by non-ending debates is for the role of a lecture in the high school studying process, which last ages and, from the confrontation point of view, of the importance of the life communication and the possibility to obtain information with the help of digital technologies. Klochkov’s scientific pedagogical practice is dedicated to Kharkiv (until 1920) and Petersburg universities in the pre-revolutionary times. One should take into consideration the formation origins and ways of implementation of Klochkov skills as a lecturer in the pre-revolutionary period, which are inseparably related to scientific and teaching activity of the professor. Besides, they can be found among special features of his activity: teaching at the university, public civil activity, taking part in the social life of the state, response to the urgent issues in time, etc.
The analysis of Klochkov professional work shows that the scientist was demanded as a teacher as well as a lecturer, had good reputation among his contemporaries for his scientific works (P. Verkhovskyi, S. Rozhdestvenskyi) and lecturing abilities (A. Viazyhin, S. Platonov). He had an immense teaching experience, great erudition, and deep knowledge of the current material on the subject, was able to operate fluently with the scientific data and could explain well the information to his students or readers.
